Introduction to wheel throwing
Saturdays @ 10AM or 1PM
A fun, once off, two hour wheel throwing class where participants can get a taste of what it’s like to be a potter!
Most participants make between 2-4 pieces per class, at the end of which 1 piece is included in the behind the scenes work for firing to become food safe and functional. Extras can be purchased on the day at your choosing.

4-Week Term Course
A two-hour, weekly wheel throwing class for potters who would like to develop their skills and understanding of the pottery process. The term course takes you through the main stages of pottery: throwing, trimming, and glazing.
We invite you to join us for this enjoyably challenging experience. At the end of which, you will leave with a new set of skills, your own works of pottery, and an appreciation for the ceramic arts.

7-Week Term Course
A two-hour, weekly wheel throwing class for potters who would like to develop their skills and understanding of the pottery process, as well as push their fundamentals to better improve their wheelhouse of skills. The term course takes you through the main stages of pottery: throwing, trimming, and glazing; and also explores a “theme”.
All skill levels are welcomed to join us for this enjoyably challenging experience. At the end of which, you will leave with a new set of skills, your own works of pottery, and an appreciation for the ceramic arts.

4-Week yin hand building course
A calming 4-week journey into clay and self. Slow down, breathe deeply, and reconnect with ourselves while creating beautiful works. Through the term we’ll look at different hand building techniques required to achieve our designs. Suitable for all levels, this meditative class offers a gentle pace and mindful approach to working with clay.

studio program
Making the jump from recurring term student to individual and more complete ceramics practice. Weekly sessions include longer access to studio, exploration and development of ones style, planning and design, mix of teacher/self guided practice, developing and understanding materials, kiln packing, works management, and more.
Only available for students who have done a few terms prior.

Studio Program focusses on;
Developing an artistic voice.
Looking at what ceramics materials are available in the Australian market, where and how to shop.
Learning to plan, monitor, and adapt with your projects.
Practicing wheel/hand building skills both independently, and with guidance when needed.
Looking at other ceramic techniques such as inlay, sgraffito, using stains, using oxides, using porcelain.
Understanding kiln packing, and managing your projects throughout the process.
While the program strongly encourages participants to focus on independent practice and development, guidance will be available in the form of; Mini presentations exploring materials and techniques, hands on guidance for kiln packing, in person help for troubleshooting when making. By week, the program will run as such:
Week 1 :
Looking at our theme ‘Clay and Self’ and how identity can be represented through both decorative and functional ceramics.
Planning and drafting our project for the program.
Looking at what materials are available in the Australian market and selecting our materials.
Week 2:
Independent practice.
Demonstrations on select forms.
Week 3:
Presentation on stains and slips.
Independent practice.
Week 4:
Independent practice.
Demonstrations on select forms.
Week 5:
Presentation on oxides.
Independent practice.
Week 6:
Independent practice.
Kiln theory and kiln packing.
Week 7:
Independent practice.
Optional: Student led presentations.
Optional: Group dinner.
